How it all began:
On the
26th of January 2001, the state of Gujarat suffered from
a severe earthquake when thousands lost their beloved and
properties worth millions of dollars were destroyed. No
amount of rehabilitation could help in order to make things
normal again. Actually, this was the third natural disaster
in a row for the state of Gujarat. In the year 1999 it was
flood, then in the year 2000 it was famine and then the
year after it was earthquake. The economy of the state went
down. Under the circumstances, common people in the state
badly suffered including Christians. Though there were NGOs
who did a good job to reconstruct the lives of believers
in the state, much remained undone. Mr. Rajiv Pathik, Assistant
Pastor, in one of the churches in South Korea, came to visit
his homeland, Gujarat during those days with Rs. 50,000
($1,000) in hand. Seeing the tragic situation of his people,
he and his three friends decided to do something concrete
on the ground. After spending a whole night of prayer and
seeking God's face for guidance, the Christian Care Ministries
came into its existence. Since then, CCM has helped 300
Missionaries, 100 believers’ families, 10 organizations
and several individuals, to enhance their spiritual lives.
